Hey, welcome to Travelfaring.com! If you’re looking for a travel checklist for Switzerland, then this is the post for you! (I will keep this post updated as well).
Depending on when you travel to Switzerland, your travel checklist for Switzerland may vary.
Because you may be visiting Switzerland in either the summer/spring or winter, you might want a travel checklist for Switzerland that fits the season you’re traveling to! By the way, the autumn/fall season can still be slightly chilly as well, so pack slightly lighter than winter.
And I get it – it’s not easy to remember everything that you may need to bring, especially if you’re traveling to Switzerland for the first time.
The scenario I’ve seen is either you’re overwhelmed and pack way too much or you don’t know what to pack at all (and should buy in Switzerland instead? That would be a bit expensive).
Well, let’s talk about all of that in this post from my first-hand experiences.
And don’t worry, we’ve also got a checklist for your packing needs in this post for you as well.
Sounds good?
Let’s get started.
Let’s Talk in Details
Below, I will be talking about some of these in details.
Apart from the travel checklist above, let’s talk a little bit about the details of the checklist.
Having been to Switzerland before, there are a few considerations and recommendations of useful things that I hope you can also take away from this post!
By the way, I broke the details down into 2 main seasons mainly because the stuff you will bring will be very different (and because I wanted to curate ideas to share with you as much as possible):
1. SUMMER / SPRING SEASON
2. WINTER SEASON
For summer/spring, your luggage is generally lighter because the clothes are usually smaller & lighter (e.g. t-shirts, shorts, light dresses etc).
And, before you choose your summer/spring packing list, you should also consider what activities you’ll be engaging in during your summer/spring travels because this will help you think about the types of things you’re going to take with you.
A Good Starting Point: Are you going to adventurous places, cosmopolitan cities or small towns?
If you’re going for a summer adventure trip (e.g. hiking etc.), you might want to take something easy to carry like a sweat-proof, foldable backpack in addition to your luggage.
Under US$25 Backpack Recommendation: the Venture Pal 40L Lightweight Packable Backpack (comes in 11 Colors).
Here are the 5 things that set this backpack apart (apart from the colors available):
For summer/spring sightseeing in different Swiss destinations, I’d recommend either a backpack or a wheeled duffel bag (for easy access to things and maneuverability).
Some Best Selling backpacks and duffel bags:
Matein Anti-Theft, Water Resistant Backpack with USB charger (over 5000+ reviews) – comes in 7 colors
Wheeled Duffel Bag recommendations: wheeled duffel
Canway Travel Duffel Bag (with Shoe Compartment) – available in 7 colors:
Wherever you go in the Swiss small towns, you can easily bring your backpack that has a water bottle holder for easy access to fill up the water at the free fountains you see in Switzerland!
When you’re in Switzerland, you’re definitely going to be taking some awesome photos and recharge your devices (at some point) as you post on your social media!
So here is the round-up of some tech recommendations that I believe will help to make your travels and activities memorable, enjoyable and stress-free.
Akaso V50 Action Camera (Special Edition)
(Don’t forget a Sandisk Ultra Micro SD card for your camera as well)
Here’s a great pair of wireless earbuds under US$50 with over 8,000+ reviews

Another great option is this Twist memory foam travel pillow (from first-hand experiences, this may be too short for some men): allows you the freedom to twist the pillow in different angles:
It’s a no brainer that you don’t need heavy clothes for summer. Here are the best summer clothes that can be worn for any summer vacation.
Apart from the hotel toiletries available, you might not want to forget these as part of your Switzerland’s travel checklist –
Because your winter luggage would usually be bulkier than summer luggage, we recommend opting for a durable, spacious, affordable and good quality check-in luggage.
